Update: Social Login, AI Collaboration Tools, and Editor Improvements

GitHub and Microsoft sign-in, a smarter AI tool system with collaboration features, new agent tools for citations and PDFs, and a redesigned empty-project editor state.

  • GitHub and Microsoft sign-in: You can now sign in with GitHub or Microsoft in addition to Google, alongside the usual social login buttons.
  • New editor empty state: Opening a project with no file selected now shows a clear empty state with quick actions to create or upload a file, instead of a blank pane.
  • Smarter AI tool selection: The AI assistant now surfaces the most relevant tools and skills for your request instead of loading everything up front, keeping responses faster and more focused.
  • Mid-task corrections: You can now send a message while the AI is mid-task to redirect it, and resume an interrupted task with a single click.
  • Collaboration upgrades: Click a collaborator's name or avatar to see their profile, edit or reply to comments in threads, and let the AI flag issues directly as comments. Comment updates now sync live across all connected sessions.
  • New AI agent tools: The assistant can now check citation validity, download reference PDFs, point to specific locations in your document or PDF preview, and trigger a recompile — all as part of its normal workflow.
  • Smarter citation fixes: Citation cleanup now matches on author/title content, not just spelling, and comments out unresolved bibliography entries instead of deleting them.
  • Automatic LaTeX character fixes: The AI can now automatically escape unescaped &, _, and # characters that would otherwise break compilation.
  • AI autonomy and style controls: New sliders let you tune how autonomously the AI acts and adjust its verbosity, tone, and language level.
