TeXposit's comment and suggestion system lets you review and discuss a document without touching the source. Whether you're reviewing your own work with AI or working with teammates, you can annotate specific sections and track changes without modifying the original text.

Creating Comments

Manual Comments

To add a comment to any text:

Select the text you want to comment on
Right-click and choose Add Comment
Type your comment and press Enter

Comments can span multiple lines, include formatting, and reference specific passages in your document.

AI-Generated Suggestions

When you use the AI assistant to refine text (e.g., "Improve Writing"), it creates suggestions instead of directly modifying your text:

Original text highlighted in original
Suggested text shown in a yellow badge
Click Accept or Reject each suggestion

Managing Suggestions

Review Workflow

Open the Suggestions Panel to see all pending suggestions. You can:

Accept One: Apply a single suggestion (Cmd+Enter)
Reject One: Discard a suggestion without applying it (Cmd+⌫)
Accept All: Apply all suggestions at once (useful for bulk formatting fixes)
Reject All: Clear all pending suggestions

Suggestion Metadata

Each suggestion shows:

Type: Grammar, Style, or Clarity

Confidence: High, Medium, or Low

Reason: Why this suggestion was made

Created: Timestamp for tracking

Comment Threads

Replying to Comments

Click a comment badge to open the thread. You can:

Reply to any comment to maintain discussion context
Mention teammates with @username
Resolve comments when issues are addressed
Reopen resolved comments if needed

Filtering Comments

Use the Comments Panel to filter by:

Unresolved: Comments awaiting action

Resolved: Completed conversations

Mine: Comments you created

Mentions: Comments mentioning you

Typical Review Session

Select section to improve

Choose 1-2 paragraphs to refine at a time

Request suggestions

Right-click and select "Improve Writing" or similar option

Review suggestions

Read each one, decide whether to accept or reject

Resolve discussion

Mark comments as resolved when complete

• AI suggestions tend toward formal tone. Your original may be better for conversational sections.
